Overall on the test, I scored above average (what is average?). Although scoring above average in Managing Self Competency, I still need to improve in the areas of balancing work and personal life, and managing change. I feel that over the years I have not been as strong in these areas as I once had been. I am hoping that this course will provide me with some insight as to how to regain strength in this area.

I am a team player, but also am very independent. I work very hard and often times, when working on a project or assignment, I tend to get very involved and will not ask for help. I need to learn to ask for help when I need it. I am respectful of others and try very hard to understanding different points of view and cultural differences. One of the things that has helped me in this area is the experience I gained while serving in the Army (experience is important. What kind of experiences?) and working with diverse groups of people.

I have very strong personal and work ethics. I follow rules and regulations and do tend to expect others to follow those same rules. I get frustrated when rules are not followed. I am honest in my communications with others. (Give me an example.)

My weaknesses are accepting criticism and adjusting to change. (How do you respond?)

I avoid confrontation at all costs. I do not like confrontation. I am too accommodating and have a hard time saying no. What I expect to get from this course is better insight into the competency areas in which I am weak. Then I can set goals for improvement. (What are those goals?)

My strong points are my ethics, leadership abilities and communication skills. I am not afraid to make decisions and take responsibility for my actions. (Good for you. Examples?)
