SUBJECT: Prescription Opioid Abuse

In an era where prescription opioid misuse has been significantly increasing, it is essential to inform everyone about how abusing opiates can affect their lives. I plan to investigate how much prescription opiate abuse has increased over time, and what leads people into abusing drugs in the first place. Also, I will be researching how the individuals are affected, and the consequences it brings. I believe my discussion will provide information to the family members of drug users, and those who have loved ones that have been taken over by drugs and addiction. It is extremely essential to acknowledge the reasons as to what leads to individuals making the choice of abusing drugs, and how these reasons can be prevented or at the very least, controlled.

Additional Reports

In investigating the consequences caused by the misuse of opioid analgesics, the following will be imperative:

  • Acknowledging how many drug overdoses are observed over a certain amount of time.

  • Recognizing the situations that individuals deal with, how that can contribute to abusing opioids, and allowing them to receive help.

  • Regulating the amount of prescription opiates that individuals with chronic diseases are allowed to obtain over a course of time.

Ultimately, these approaches should benefit in trying to decrease the high rates of prescription opiate misusers by identifying the underlying problem. Many people who suffer from mental illnesses are linked to being opiate users, along with those suffering with chronic pain. Managing the amount of prescription narcotics being given to patients may be difficult, but if they are being observed carefully by their doctors, many of these problems can be avoided.

Recommendations

Please consider taking the time to understand and support the severity of prescription drug abuse, the dangerous repercussions, and how making information available to the people will succeed in getting the right attention. There are many people who are not as educated about the issue, and I strongly believe they deserve to have the adequate information available to them. I humbly ask to receive approval for this important topic. Educating the many people who are not aware of how severe opioid abuse has become, will not only alarm them to take better precautions, but it will also be beneficial in the future. If any questions related to the proposition of my choice rise, please do not hesitate to ask for clarification.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this case, and wish to receive your approval.
