Lesson learned

While working on this project, we have learned a lot of things. As a team, we believe that we can divide the knowledge acquired in two parts: technical lessons and non-technical lessons. First, we have the ideas and knowledge that are core to the class and technically applicable to our career as engineers.

Technical lessons:

  1. Sketching: as we have improved our visualization and interpretation and by knowing the orthographic projection views, we have successfully achieved a level that we can sketch any model.

  2. SolidWorks: throughout this whole process of doing parts of the pressure gauge we have experienced new and techniques in Solidworks, which in term has improved our visualization and interpretation.

  3. Drawing: Also by going throughout this process and in order to describe every part, we needed to use many types of drawing. We have learned throughout the semester such as detailed drawing and assembly drawing.

  4. Research: our project challenged us to investigate and understand concepts that were unknown to us before. In order to be able to put our ideas together in somewhat coherent manner and present our “innovation”, we sought new information to help us formulate a concept.

On the other hand, we as a team grew together and confronted some challenges that helped us understand the dynamics of working in groups and the bad and good thing that come from it.

Non-Technical lessons:

  1. Team Work: working in a group has enhanced the spirit of cooperation and we fully appreciated how team work could make everything possible.

  2. Compromise: By compromising, our team was able to get the best of everyone and combine it to create something bigger and better; beyond individualism.

In the end, the combination of all our lessons learned and the full cooperation of the team, allowed us to know to create a product and presentation that was able to meet the requirements set. As a team, we are able to look bad passed all the difficulties and the bad times, and realize that we became better as the result of this project because we have gained more experience in the realm of unity and coordinated team work.
