The Coca-Cola Company

There are a lot of methods that have been used to describe different events or advertisements with the purpose marketing products. There are several instances in which the methods have been used to pass out different messages to the expected audience. In the case of adverts, there have been distinct approaches that have been used by various companies to give information to the expected audience. The coca cola company has been using the three top theories pathos, ethos, and logos to pass their information to the public. We shall now look how the methods have been applied in detail.

• Ethos

It can be best described as the way in which one has to convince someone of the character or even the credibility of the persuader. An individual always needs to convince another person who might be interested in a particular thing. For an individual to be able to convince another person of a particular thing, he/she must be able to use this theory for them to be able to convince the other interested party. It makes this approach to play a significant role as it assists in persuading of other individuals.

The coca cola company has used this approach for it to be able to convince their audience to be interested in purchasing their products that they are selling. The company always uses an advert that is to be able to convince the audience. In the advert, the theory has been used to bring out the importance of the commodity; drink that the company is producing. The company convinces the audience on the importance of the drink that it is selling by bringing in the brotherly love between the individuals who were advertising the product.

• Pathos

It is also another major theory that is used by various people to bring in the upper income on the particular activity they are involved in doing. Therefore, pathos can be described as emotions and a way of convincing the audience of an argument by developing an emotional response. For an individual to be able to get attracted to a particular product, the organization ought to use emotions that will be able to make the person feel part and parcel of the product. When emotions have been created when trying to convince someone, the individual will be easily convinced of the importance of the particular product that is for sale.

The coca cola company has used this theory to create emotions to the audience by using the two brothers. The theory shows how the elder brother teases, the younger brother at any given moment. When it comes to the coca cola drink, the elder brother now defends the little brother when being teased by other kids over the drink. The emotion has been created whereby the audience gets to have the feeling of the importance of the drink. The drink is needed by many people and can lead to someone to attack another person over the drink. It will make the audience to have an interest in the drink.

• Logos

It is the third significant theory that is used by many individuals and many organizations towards promoting their products. It can be described as an appeal to logic, a way of persuading an audience by reason. The audience ought to be convinced by various reasons for them to buy the particular products that are on the sale. The coca cola company has used the advert to convince the audience to buy their drinking product.

The company gives the reason that the drink brings people together even when they were not in good terms. The drink brought the two brothers together as compared in the recent past as they were often teasing each other. The Coca-Cola Company has been able to persuade its customers to buy the drinking product that will make them come together with other individuals. The audience will, therefore, try and purchase the drink and put it to test on how they will be able to relate well with others.


Conclusion

Through the application of these three theories in its various adverts like this one, the company has managed to maintain and even win more customers to continue buying its drinks. The advert has enabled the company to sell huge volumes of its products around the world. It is important for all the other companies to follow the same suite that the Coca-Cola Company has decided to use.
