Erica Fernadez

I am a 28 years old young man from New Orleans currently based in Atlanta Georgia as a full-time medical assistant dealing with pain management. For the past five years, I have practiced in the area of pain management where I mainly deal with patients with chronic pain and those who deal with drug addiction. Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in psychology as a substance abuse major. My course choice was inspired by the need to help people struggling with addiction during pain management. I hope to gain skills that will enable me to help these people by encouraging them to make positive changes by guiding and being of positive influence. When I complete my bachelors’ degree, I plan to work as a pain management specialist by collaborating with others in the field. I am an extensive reader who gives me a high level of knowledge in depression and anxiety management.

One area that I have gained interests in during my practice and study is the development of human mind. I hope to explore on the theories surrounding the development of human mind to understand their basics and strengths. There are different theories to the categorization of human behaviors and brain activities (Oliver et al., 2012). Secondly, I have an interest in understanding the aspect and significance of the change in the society. Many scholars have developed some approaches to change (Oliver et al., 2012). I intend to develop a unified theory of change by combining some theories into one. Finally, I want to study more on depression and anxiety. There are different approaches to the management of the conditions and various methods of preventing the two conditions such as avoiding stressing situations and positive mindedness. Therefore, the development of human mind, change in society and depression and anxiety are my proposed essay topics.
