Running Head: TESLA INC. PRODUCTION PLAN PAPER 0

Tesla Inc. Production Plan Paper

Introduction

This paper presents the production plan of Tesla Inc. In this paper, discussions highlight the tools, techniques, and technologies to design production plan. Additionally, a brief detail about usage of lean operations and services, sustainability measures and various factors involved in the production plan of Tesla Inc. have also been discussed below.

Tools, Techniques, and Technologies

In designing the electronic cars for Tesla Inc., value state maps were drawn to determine both the current and the future state maps. Value state maps are meant to track the movement of materials, information and process from the current product state to the time it is delivered to a consumer (Sheth, Deshpande and Kardani, 2014). In developing a value state mapping, E-Daw Max, Version 7 was used, in which charts and graphics were presented.

Lean Operations and Services

A production plan at Tesla Inc. will include lean operations and lean services that are meant to reduce wastage. Therefore, such practices as reducing the waiting time for materials waiting to be processed, reducing overproduction by assessing demand and synchronizing with marketing of automobiles as well as eliminating unnecessary transportation to minimize costs. Additionally, the process will involve employing highly trained staff to increase productivity and reducing wastage of materials used in the construction of the automobiles (Leite & Vieira, 2015).

Sustainability

In order to ensure sustainability in the production of automobiles, Tesla Inc. will optimize on the use of its resources including people, promotion, partners, processes as well as evaluation of these processes to ensure that costs are saved to the highest possible level. Additionally, the company will train the staff on the sustainability policy that the company will put in place to guide all the employees at the company.

Involvement

In implementing a successful production plan, Tesla Inc. will work to abide by all the legal requirements such as paying taxes as well as copyrighting any patents that will be used in the production process. The company will consider cultural backgrounds for its customers to ensure that product design suit their culture. Being an international company, Tesla Inc. will focus on the global economic trends and identify and effectively hedge against any risks. The company values and motivates employees who are involved in product design and production.

Conclusion

In summary, the production plan of Tesla Inc uses value state maps tools and techniques, and lean operations and lean services to reduce wastage. Additionally, their production plan is based on training staff about their sustainability policy and involving all the legal, cultural, global, and human factors that is essential for its successful implementation.
