Optional - EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT

Up to (15pts)

Watch one of the following films:

Philadelphia

A Few Good Men

The People Vs. Larry Flynt

Michael Clayton

Erin Brockovich

The Runaway Jury

**I realize many of the options are relatively "older" films, however, I needed to find movies that offered enough legal materials that relate to the book in order for you have stuff to write about. Try your local libraries -- they have movies for rent for free! And, since many of these films are older -- try asking friends and family if they own a copy of the DVD. I don't want anyone to have to spend money on completing this extra credit assignment. If you live in the Daytona area and you have the ability to come in, you can borrow my copy of "Intolerable Cruelty" but you'll need to coordinate with me for the exchange.

1. Describe in detail how the movie fits three legal topics found in the textbook.

  • For each of the three, define/describe the concept and cite to the page(s), then discuss how the film relates to the legal concept.

- Each of the three should be at least two paragraphs each. (It does not have to be a chapter/concept we covered as part of the course, it can be from a different chapter in the book)

2. Describe at least 2 ethical issues presented in the film.

  • Discuss, explain, and present the perspectives of the entities involved in the ethical issue presented. Each discussion of the ethical issue should be at least one paragraph each.

**This extra credit assignment will be graded pursuant to the written grading rubric found in the syllabus (meaning, I will take into consideration depth, analysis, quality of discussion, application of concepts, etc.) It will be graded AS RIGOROUSLY!
