Subject: Feasibility Report of the Automatic Recyclable Garbage Classification

Automatic Recyclable Garbage Classification, the purpose of this design is to solve the problem that most of trash station spend lot of time in separate out different type of recyclable garbage. Automatic Recyclable Garbage Classification design is the rapid way to classify different recyclable garbage. In most trash station in Philadelphia, first of all, recycling will spend a lot of labor and time on separate different material because some people still not get used to separate recyclable and non-recyclable garbage. Therefore, once the garbage deliver to the recycling drop-off center, it always contains a lot of non-recyclable trash. As result, this center will spend extra labor and time to separate those trashes. The purpose of this design is to make the employee working condition easier and more efficiency.

There two major recycling challenges for Automatic Recyclable Garbage Classification facing. First, how to install and set up in trash station. There are three recycling drop-off center in Philadelphia which establish for long time already and this all the machine for drop off and transit have been set up. Therefore, is hard to install and set up this design into those machine or transit line. However, if this design can create small and easy to install that will consider an upgrade instead of replacement for the trash station. Second, this is the biggest recycling challenge facing American communities. Second, this is the technical challenge that we must set up a lager database to store all the density data for different material. Therefore, we need to process some research about what material will become trash most and what is the density for those materials. And establish a larger online server to store all this data.

The cost of this design base on the material and database establish fee and some extra costs. According the challenge I list out above, this design we consider an upgrade tool that the trash station no need to replace any machine that they already establish. Therefore, the goal for this design will focus on convenient and easy to install in different trash station. For the material to build this design can find in HomeDepot or Amazon. However, the density sensor that will use in this design is the major cost. Those density sensors have different prices base on the size and sensitive range. And for the database server we can use online server that will not cost a lot.

As conclusion, this design is feasible and manufacturable. If we can keep the prices reasonable and the design is installable for different recycling drop-off center. If this design is simply install like just plug into the machine or trash transit line, I think those recycling center will act it positively.
