Child Welfare Regulations

Child welfare is an important state responsibility, and state ensures that children are protected neglect and abuse. State ensures that children have safe, permanent, and stable living conditions. Protection of children from all these mentioned is not something cheap, for instance, state and federal government spends almost $25 billion every year on children welfare services. Legislators at the state level are tasked with the role of overseeing, funding, and structuring children welfare systems. For example, more than 300 children welfare bills are enacted on a yearly basis. NCSL also plays an important role in children’s welfare, for instance, they have a role of tracking legislation and issue the legislators and legislative research team on child maltreatment, foster care, adoption, and kinship care.

Thesis: Child welfare regulations should be changed for better regulations that are able to protect children welfare in a justified manner.

The reason why I chose this topic is because children are important part of the society, and without them we will have no society in future, and therefore they need to be protected. However, some of their welfare regulation need to be changed because; some parents are falsely accused of child neglect, and secondly, the Department of Children’s Services has failed to effectively execute its mandate in an acceptable manner.

This research targets various audience in different capacities, parents are the most people affected with the current regulations on child’s welfare, this makes them my first audience. Secondly, this research also targets legislators who formulate these laws in an attempt to make sense with them as to why some of the laws need to be changed.

The research will have three main parts, that is; an introduction with a thesis statement, followed by the main body containing the main points as to why Children’s welfare regulations need to be changed. In the main body we’ll also have counterarguments from opposing side. Finally, the research will have a conclusion summarizing everything and recommendations. The questions this paper will try to answer are; why should child’s welfare regulations be changed? What impact will the changed regulation have on children and their well-being?

The research will be conducted for a period of three weeks, qualitative research method will be used. Structured questionnaire will be administered to the sample interviewees who will give their views and stories on the current child’s welfare regulations.
