  1. Introduction

    1. Topic: Healthcare Ethics

      1. Healthcare ethics is an aspect of doing what is right as far as the healthcare setting is concerned while taking into considerations the professionalism of the doctors and how the code of ethics binds them.

      2. There have been many alarming cases of the details of patients and their privacy being violated in some cases, which is not supposed to happen especially because doctors are bound not to release patient information (Merry, & Walton, 2012).

      3. The way doctors attend to patient’s issues should be aligned to the code of conduct which defines how the doctor should behave while providing their services to the patients.

  2. Scope of the Project

    1. Privacy of Patient’s Information within the healthcare setting.

      1. With the advanced technology and implementation of the EHR, patient records have become susceptible to being accessed by the wrong individuals within the healthcare environment.

      2. Healthcare providers have the mandate to ensure the systems does not let out this information to unauthorized people.

      3. Patient data is sensitive, and the patients expect that the same should be kept private and confidential even within the healthcare setting.

      4. The release of the patient’s information to unauthorized persons is deemed to be unethical and should be condemned if need be.

      5. It is important for healthcare ethics to be upheld by the doctors and nurses to reduce the chances of information being accessed by unauthorized people.

      6. Confidence will increase if the patients understand that the doctors are applying the code of ethics in the workplace and eventually lead to a proper relationship between patients and the healthcare workers.

    2. The dress code of the doctors is another key aspect to be discussed while considering the health care ethics.

      1. One of the essential elements of medicine is that doctors have to dress in a particular manner in their professional fields.

      2. Many healthcare providers have been noted to wear in styles that are not appealing, yet claiming that their dress is their choice.

      3. Such dressing codes do not comply with the professional way of the healthcare workers and how they should dress within this professional field (McLean, 2013).

      4. The healthcare ethics depicts the dressing code of the health care providers, and one is to dress in a proper manner that is in line with the ethical requirements.

    3. General Conduct of the doctors in their official duties.

      1. Healthcare providers should treat their patients as described within the code of ethics with respect and patience with them.

      2. The doctors should ensure the privacy and confidentiality of the patients are maintained to reduce the cases of mistrust and lack of proper relationships in the workplace.

      3. It is the mandate of the patients to attend to the particular patient needs regardless of their ethnical backgrounds, race, religion, and other aspects which differentiate the patient that is not medical bound.

      4. Thus, the doctors are expected to embrace diversity in their treatment of the individuals within the hospitals without discriminating any one.

      5. Integration of these ethical behaviors helps to ensure proper relationships between the patient and the doctors.

      6. The approach helps to build trust between the patient and the doctor.
