Introducing the Organization

The organization am interning for is a body sculpting company which goes by the name Nutrient Body Sculpt. Body sculpting is a muscle-toning product that is centered on core strength. The mission/purpose of the organization is to sculpt, hydrate and refresh a person. Sculpting involves tightening and toning the muscle, hydrating ensures replenishment of the muscle and refreshing works to make a person relaxed. The company thus works to ensure that the attendants of the treatments achieved the desired new look and strength.

The department that am interning in is the marketing department. This is the interface of the organization to the rest of the world. It’s the department in charge of giving feedback to the rest of the business on the designing a product suiting the market. It’s further responsible for assuring effective customer relationship as well as promotions of the company’s products to the rest of the world. Moreover, it generates new businesses/ventures for the company. That means new areas that the company can expand to and provide the body sculpting services. The marketing department is thus in charge of the overall marketing related activities of the company. Over the course of the internship, the responsibilities encompass handling the social media bit of marketing. These include the working on the various accounts in the social media with activities such as posting, responding, soliciting clients etc. I will further be involved in making promotional/campaign videos meant to enhance the publicity of the company. That includes coming up with criteria of the video e.g. length, what to include, possible setting, number of participants in the video etc.

Action Plan for the First Goal

Increase the number of followers by 50% from the current followers who are interested in our business by September 1st 2017.

Overview

Three set of activities posting special offers as well as promotions, keeping up-to-date with news on the brand and frequent posts regarding and related to the company’s products and line of business. This will be done in coordination with the rest of the company’s department but done by the social media section of the marketing department. The rationale is to gain followers. A post can thus be on special offer, instructional tips regarding health, a treatment in session and so on. The contribution is thus from all departments. The possible problems include un-follows after following, lack of sharing and negative feedbacks. To handle un-following, the social media accounts will stay clear of potentially polarized/biased topics that might lead to less followers. Creating sharable content will ensure sharing is effective and avoiding negative response to negative feedbacks.

Order

The action steps will start in the order of promotions, followed by updates and finally, information. That is starting order every morning. All the information relating to the posts will be prepared and reviewed before posting. The sequence does not have to repeat itself after the morning initial posts.

Follow Up

Every end of a week and review of achievable objectives will be determined. Every social media has a mechanism to determine the response of the social media posts made. These include number of views, new followers, and reactions to posts and so on. Such mechanisms will assist to determine the progress of the following.

Measuring Success

Gain the number of followers by 30% in all the social media accounts owned.

Action plan for Second Goal

Make promotional videos that will increase the clients by 30% in the next three months starting August 1st, 2017 and such clients would be regular.

Overview

To hit the goal, recording and editing equipment and consent of participants. This will be a monthly program hence the video can be made every week. The video will be ready every end of the month hence can be made in the course of the week. The company might solicit the services of experts in video making to achieve the best quality. The probable problems include increasing costs where such video content does not correlate with increasing number of clients and lack of consent of potential participants. The contingency plan involves first proper budgeting of the 3 months exercise. That eliminates any possible increasing costs. Secondly, prior to making videos where consent is required, the company via marketing department will seek the consent of participants. For instance, if it’s a treatment in session video, the attendants must have accepted to be part of the video.

The goal is to make campaign videos that will boost the marketing initiatives. The video will assist in enhancing understanding of the visual learners and illustrate the practicality of what the company offers.

Order

  • Determining the day and place of the recording

Follow up

The video will be posted in various platforms including social media. It will be possible to thus tell the number of viewers reached. Moreover, progress can also be determined by a few questions to clients on the avenue they got information regarding the company from hence those that saw the video will be easily determined.

Measuring Success

Success will be determined by achieving of the 30% increase in the number of clients of the business.

Action plan for the third goal

Contacting Chinese bandage companies and placing an order of 5000+ bandages to be delivered around 20th to 27th every month starting from July 1st, 2017.

Overview

To hit the goal, there is need for list of manufacturers of bandage, list of delivery companies, contacts for the companies and possible quotes for the orders. The orders are to be made at the beginning of every month on the first or second day. The people required to coordinate are the purchases department. The problems that may arise include documentation, clearance from customs and inland delivery. To handle that, the contingency plan is to have an alternative delivery firm on-call incase one fails to. The firm will take care of all the aforementioned possible issues.

There exist a number of companies that deal with bandages in china; there is thus need to contact and get a quote for the 5000 bandages prior to placing an order.

Follow Up

To monitor, the company will keep in touch with sales from the manufacturing company as well as Delivery Company to determine progress. After the orders are placed on the first day of the month, the Chinese sales department will inform the progress until the products are in the hands of Delivery Company. That will work to ensure that deadlines are met.

Measuring Success

The success of the program is effective delivery to the premises of the company or storage facilities.
