The provision of healthcare in Kenya when compared to the United States has faced numerous yet solvable challenges and through various identified strategies this situation can be reversed.

Outline

  1. Introduction

Kenya is steady and developing country which features improving technological use in healthcare provision. There are present policies put in place to ensure that the country makes the most of its healthcare sector. There are however numerous challenges that promote its poor and inadequate delivery. Through certain recommendations however the situation can be changed to improve healthcare to match that of the United States.

  1. Body

  1. Current health status and brief history of the current healthcare system

The present mortality rates among the Kenyan population are known to affect the country are currently being targeted in the projection for the country’s health care. Campaigns such as below zero campaign aims at eradicating death of infants, children under five and mothers’ due to pregnancy and labor related complications (Desai, 2013).

  1. Cultural, religious, social, and political factors that affect the health system

Presently a large population and communities undertake conventional medication. It should also be noted that there are specific cultures and religions that do not believe in conventional medication and end up not seeking healthcare when necessary. This has been a challenge that the government is trying to eliminate to promote healthy human behavior in Kenya. There are health disparities among the rich and the poor with healthcare services being limited to those that can afford it (Ndila et al., 2014). Smaller centers intervene for those that economically disadvantaged. In recent years there has also division of healthcare provision based on regions and political administration known as the counties. This has affected both quality and availability of healthcare for the people of Kenya.

  1. Challenges of the current healthcare system and issues being faced

Kuhuba et al. (2014) states that there are various challenges that the sector is facing amongst them financial, corruption and insufficient healthcare education and significance among the rural populations.

  1. Future health projection based on resources needed to address the country's healthcare issues

It is among those resources that need to be incorporated to address the healthcare issues. Molyneuz (2017) further state that addressing the quality issues of healthcare may need to implement policy changes and implementation.

  1. Comparison of the selected country and the U.S. health system.

Kenya may feature use of conventional medicine and limited yet developing technologies to aid in health care (Ndila et al., 2014). When compared with the United States however, it can be said to lag behind as the technologies are more advanced and the rate of healthy practices are witnessed more in the US.

  1. Conclusion and Recommendation

  1. Recommendations on how this country's health system can be improved

From the information analyzed above about Kenya, it is recommended that there be policy changes to reduce the opportunities for fowl play and increase collaboration with international health providing organizations. Implementation of modern technologies could further reduce the mortality rates among the affected groups and increase care quality.
