For this final discussion, I was given y = 0.25x − 0.5 and

Here goes….

y = 0.25x − 0.5

This is basically just a straight line on the x axis bisecting the y axis at -0.25. Any point on the y axis will have the same x intersect. (0, -0.25), (4, -0.5), (232, -0.25), (687186768746, -0.25), (-0.25, -0.25). Using the Vertical Line Test, I can see that this is a Function. Shifting this three units upward and four units to the left would simply make it a line parallel to the x axis at 2.75.

Have to admit, got lucky on that one. Which means the next……

Yeah, not so easy. Looking at it right away I can see a few things. First of all x ≥ 0. That’s good to know. This means that the y intercept is going to be (0, 3), which is also the start point. There are no x axis intercept points. If you were to look at it visually, it would be an arc starting at (0, 3) shooting off to the right with substantial exponential decay. Points for this would be (0, 3), (1, 4), (4, 5), (9, 6), (16, 7). Notice the Relation of every point as you get further away from the y axis? The x point is growing exponentially.

As neither of these great an actual shape, I am unable to apply any sort of Transformation.
