DEAR LUDOWICI VETERANS COMMUNITY,

We hope by the time you receive this letter you are in good health. Veterans organization is a foundation based in Atlanta, Georgia which runs various programs with the intention of helping in meeting the needs of the Veterans who diligently served our country, and most of them are living miserable lives due to lack of necessities. For this reason, we take the pleasure to invite you to a community forum on Friday, 11th August as St. Augustine hall. The forum will begin at 9 am and run for five hours. St. Augustine Hall is located opposite the Department of Veterans Affairs in Georgia.

As an organization, we understand that there are many challenges that veterans face in day to day lives. One of the most prominent ones is housing, access to quality care, relationship issues, as well as employment opportunities among others. As a group, we plan to hold a forum to gather information on the community’s needs with the aim of offering assistance. There are many times when different organizations which come out to assist the homeless veterans have not achieved their goals because they did not have a clear understanding of the seriousness and the urgency of the group well. Veterans Organization is different as well first of all reach out to the groups we intend to offer assistance to and learn the pressing needs they may have so that allocation of resources is carried out efficiently. We, therefore, invite you to be open to share with our leadership on the various issues that you face as a group so that we may know how to go about implementing the assistance program. As an organization, we understand that in the center for homeless veterans there are different issues although homelessness is often given priority. We seek to address inclusive needs without focusing on the issue homelessness alone. As a result, we hope that you will be willing to share all these issues openly.

The organization works in collaboration with various professional in different fields who have better experience, understanding and expertise in some of the issues that face veterans. Veterans Organization has therefore invited different professionals to help in analyzing and addressing the issues facing the veterans. Some of the individuals who are invited to attend this forum include psychologists (Fraser Counseling Center), housing experts (Atlanta Habitat for Humanity), researchers (Atlanta Research and Education Foundation), general health practitioners, employers, faith-based organizations (Buckhead Christian Ministry), local agency-department of veterans’ affairs ( Georgia Department of Veterans Service), Veterans Foundation(Community Foundation for Great Atlanta), International Disability Alliance representatives (Inclusion International), as well as criminal justice officials among others (supreme court of Georgia). These experts will help in unwinding some of the questions that will be presented during the forum. Some of them such as the employers will offer helpful information on how veterans can quickly find new employment opportunities. The psychologists will help with issues related to relations among various groups in the society as this is a major problem that the veterans are faced with. Health is critical for every citizen, and that is why health official will also attend the forum. Since homelessness is such as big problem among veteran, the housing experts will provide information on how the process can be made less complex so that with the partnership with the local government and also faith-based organizations as well as other foundations the homeless veterans can acquire a decent life.

To ease accessibility to the community forum, Veterans foundation in partnership with Buckhead Christian Ministry will provide transportation. The organization’s buses will be availed to ferry the participants to the forum and back. Lunch will also be provided.

We are looking forward to positive feedback from you. Your presence will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Sec General,

Veterans Organization, Georgia
