X FACTOR THE TALENT SHOW

Television shows whether fiction or non-fiction have now become part of many people’s lives. One of the most popular programs is the x factor television show. Despite the fact that the program is sometime fictional, it is still one of the leading television shows globally with millions of fans worldwide. X factor helps in promoting talents among all ages. Common talents in the show are singing, dancing, magicians and comedians who are targeting the ultimate prize of one million dollars. I will evaluate why the X Factor should not criticize their contestant’s so harshly and explain some of the negative effects that come from harsh comments and judgements being made on the show.

The X factor talent television channel has continued to play an important role in establishing and nurturing talents across the nation. Since the auditions are carried out countrywide, many talents are recognized through auditions which may give individuals the chance to showcase their talents. Due to stiff competition, people tend to give their best and also find new ways to improve their talents. This helps them to nurture their talents Li, J. T. (2009). On the other hand, individuals showcase a talent but require a large capital to expound them, and hence when given the chance by the X factor talent show, he or she may attract a potential investor in which he or she will be able to expound their talent.

X factor is a source of income to many stakeholders. It offers direct and indirect employment to the residents of Americans. Direct employment would include the technicians involved in setting up the stage, the judges and generally all stakeholders working for a case of the show to take place. Indirect employment includes those who support individuals involved in catering, the organization's drivers and even those involved in the cleaning of the premises. All of these activities support staff with an income which will help them meet their daily expenses such as water and electricity bills. X factor has hence helped many individuals whether minor or major in making an income for survival purposes. O'Bannon, G. (2001).

Ridicule and criticism by the judges in the show may discourage the participants. This is one of the cons that have discouraged even the most potential talents from arising. In case a performance does not please a certain judge, the judge should comment politely rather than criticizing the person. The judges should understand that society is made up of different people. Some people take comments lightly while others take comments heavily and this may end up affecting their future life. By the fact that the truth hearts, some people end up being low on self-esteem and even suffer from depression. Hence the X factor show judges should cease from harsh comments.

The X Factor show is fond of clever and selective editing. The contestants are shown only when performing and there are some errors that he or she might have made during their performance that are not displayed for public view. Also during editions, only successful candidates are taken to the show. The unsuccessful candidates may please a certain individual with their talent, however it is not vied as competitive enough. During auditions contestants are picked randomly and interviewed. Most of them have not been happy with the way editing was done because some of their performances were deliberately cut. Hence video editors should cease from editing contestants performances.

Finally, despite a great performance by contestants, many viewers shift their focus from the main performance to the judge's rule about the performance. The main part of the show is to find new talents and great performers. Unfortunately, judges and their comments have now diverted the viewers from even concentrating on the talents of the performers. Viewers then direct their attention to the final judgment by the judges. Redden, G. (2008).

In conclusion, The X factor show and other talent shows despite them being beneficial to all types of stakeholder whether minor or major stakeholders should cease from negatively motivating the constantans' especially the judges. Viewers at home should embrace both the good and the ridicule comments. The contestants should showcase their talents and leave most of the judgment to the audience.
