Performance evaluations are often difficult whichever side of the desk you are on.
I actually think behavioral/attitude problems are more difficult to deal with than task/production problems. In the following scenario you are the manager of an individual who has interpersonal problems with two female colleagues. The female colleagues have complained to you about what they perceive as a sexist attitude but they are unable to provide specific examples of inappropriate behavior. The women have made it clear that this is not sexual harassment but they are still uncomfortable about comments they believe are demeaning. Since a complaint was filed, you are required by company policy to meet with the employee, inform the employee that complaints about behavior have been made and to seek a resolution of the issues in the complaint.
Based on the things we discussed in class you need to develop a strategy for this meeting.
In your initial post, describe the strategy and then describe the tactics you would use for the meeting (how formal, where, how do you plan to discuss the allegations, etc). After that feel free to respond to the posts of others as you see fit. I’ll be playing devil’s advocate in my responses so don’t panic.
