Ask the subject to extend one leg at the knee while you attempt to stop the motion by applying strong resistance anteriorly, just above the ankle. Note the amount of resistance you have to apply. Now ask the subject to sit up and flex the trunk well forward from the hips. Extend at the knee again against resistance.
