1.  What are the facts in this case?The facts, in this case, is Dr. Griffith got invited to the golf course by his friend Dr. Williams and the office manager Sandra, asked Dr. Griffith if he would like to join him. Dr. Griffith agreed to his invitation and even told Sandra he could cancel his afternoon patients. The office manager Sandra canceled immediately the appointment. Dr. Griffith and Sandra they both work at Metro Renal it’s a reputable nephrology clinic in Urbana, IL headed by the Chief Medical officer of the group, Dr. Rosenberg who has established a strict policy in scheduling, seeing patients and no cancellations are allowed except for family emergencies. However, Dr. Griffith and Sandra canceled a schedule without telling Dr. Rosenberg. Tanya who is the scheduler for the Dr. Rosenberg overheard the conversation between Sandra and Dr. Griffith about the cancellation and told it to Dr. Rosenberg. The next day Dr. Rosenberg give Sandra a warning for violating his policy.

2.  What are the management implications of this case?I believe there is a lack of management skills that could treat everyone fairly without looking to their position. “Interpersonal Skills are those skills that enable a manager to communicate with and work well with other individuals, regardless of whether they are peers, supervisors, or subordinates.” (6- Ch1).

3.  Is it feasible to keep Sandra and avoid confrontations with the physicians?  Explain why you think so.No, it isn’t feasible to keep Sandra and avoid confrontation with the physicians because she felt they throw her under the bus alone. Although, what she did was unprofessional, but giving her the warning alone without including Dr. Griffith is unfair to her.
