**KIM WOODS** wk 6 q2
We read that multiple regression analysis typically involves one dependent variable and various predictor variables (Cozby & Bates, p. 258). As a note, predictor variables are sometimes called explanatory variables. Let's focus on possible uses of multiple regression as explained by Rubinfield (n.d.). "...Multiple regression might be useful (1) in deciding whether a particular effect is present; (2) in measuring the magnitude of a particular effect; and (3) in forecasting what a particular effect would be, but for an intervening event..." (p. 420). Review your example from research that applies multiple regression analysis, which might be related to your topic of interest, and tell us which of the 3 possible uses seem most involved by the researcher(s). Include the dependent variable and explanatory variables and how they relate to the researcher(s) overall objective for conducting the study.
