Polymers that have very different applications often have properties that are very similar. The polymers for soda bottles (polyethylene), plastic pipes (PVC), and Saran® wrap are all very different in strength and flexibility. In this class, we will only scratch the surface of polymers and organic chemistry. However, polymers are present in every aspect of your life from your kitchen to your clothes.
Select an aspect of polymers to research (e.g. manufacturing, structure, biodegradability, etc.). Generate a bulleted KLW list as your initial post, where K = knowledge (what you knew about the topic before you started the research), L = what you learned, and W = what you want to know more about on the topic. Be sure to provide URLs to the sources you used to develop your “L” list. Images are encouraged.
