For this essay, you will write at least 1000 words (no more than 1300 words) in which you compare or contrast two things. This essay follows a traditional format, and thus it should include an introduction (1 paragraph), a body (3-4 paragraphs), and a conclusion (1 paragraph). Your body paragraphs should provide adequate support to prove your thesis statement. In addition, the support in the body paragraphs should be specific and concrete.

Furthermore, your paragraphs should have a logical flow and use transitions to aid in that flow.

Your essay should:

• use at least 2 concrete, vivid examples in EACH body paragraph. (Use specific, vivid details that show instead of tell.)
• have a clear, well-written thesis statement, located in the introduction.
• have a hook in the introduction.
• have 2-4 body paragraphs that support and prove your thesis.
• have a conclusion paragraph.
• use transitions correctly and effectively.
• be logically organized (according to one of the two patterns for this type of essay).
