: With references to the subject matter in the course, your own personal experience and two written articles you have discovered, provide your opinion on the future of popular music and how it will affect and be affected by society. While you are providing a prediction, you are also reflecting on the history of this symbiotic relationship: music with society and society with music. Reminder: This is your prediction so I expect you to write in first person. However, I also expect you to write clearly, concisely and eloquently, which means without slang or colloquialisms. Opening Paragraph 1. Start with a "hook:" one sentence that grabs the reader's attention and draws (or throws!) them into the paper. While gripping, the hook should also have a thematic link to your main prediction or argument. 2. Next, provide context for the prediction/argument: 1-2 sentences that provide just enough information for the reader to fully grasp your statement that will anchor the rest of the essay. 3. This all leads to the main prediction or argument at the very end of the paragraph. This is usually presented in one sentence and is then supported by the remainder of the essay. While you will have many paragraphs, each with a separate focus, they all reinforce your central argument that you stated initially. Your prediction/argument gets stronger as one progresses through the paper. At the very end, you bring all these thoughts together and help the reader to understand the flow of ideas.
I really AM CONFUSED.
