By this time, you should have an understanding of what evidence-based management is and its importance to an organization. In addition, you have learned about the importance of having credible sources that support decision making. This discussion focuses on the analysis, reporting, and assessment of sources of information and search strategies. Respond to the following to better understand when to use certain sources of information and how to search for them:

Using the information found in the Shemilt text, starting on page 12, describe how and when various sources of information should be used. For example, what types of sources should you use when looking for cost? What types should you use when looking for decision-making strategies?

Identify search strategies that are used to gather evidence and explain how they work.

Read the Discussion Participation Scoring Guide prior to posting to learn how the instructor will evaluate your discussion participation.

Evaluate the information your peer provided about how and when various sources of information should be used. Do you agree or disagree? Explain.

Evaluate the search strategies your peer identified. What are your thoughts about and critiques of these strategies?
