1.    Can we look at one seemingly unique Latin American phenomenon in the 20th century to understand the region's history? In other words, does something like the development of Liberation Theology or Revolutions help us analyze what is unique about the region and its politics in the 20th and early 21st centuries? Feel free to use Liberation Theology, Revolutions, Populism, or another phenomenon such as Revolutions, New Social Movements, etc. You may use one or a combination of phenomena.
