A one-pager is an analytical, creative, and written response to a novel that completely fills one side of a piece of paper. For your one-pager, you’ll want to focus on the big ideas from the book including themes, symbolism, conflict, tone, literary devices, and character development. 

Remote: You will have the option of completing this assignment on paper and either bringing the project to school or sending me a clear picture of the project OR you can create your project using Google Slides.

Find 3 meaningful quotes and explain the significance of each quote. What does it infer, symbolize, suggest, relate to, tell us, etc? Quote must be properly cited (Northup pg#) to get full credit.

Draw or create 3 images that represent the book (theme, symbols, characters, or conflicts within the book). Label each image.

Write 3 “big picture” questions that look at how and why. You MUST answer each of your questions thoroughly with an introduced, cited, and explained quote.

Create a timeline with 10 critical events from the book. The timeline must be linear or follow a plot diagram. Each event MUST be written in a complete sentence.

Find song lyrics that connect to the book. Write the lyrics, include the song, artist and 2-3 sentences explaining HOW the song related to the book.

Figurative Language

Identify and illustrate two examples of figurative language. Each example must include the quote, an illustration, and a one sentence explanation.
