“I think the overwhelming catalog is the reflection of the society since different people carry different things which they think are important to them. To list things different people carry can reflect their personality and characteristics. The “carry” not only represents the things which they actually bring, but also their attitudes, personalities and life experiences they have.When I read Jimmy carries the pebble in his mouth, I think it is a little unforgettable for me. I know Jimmy really loves Martha, it is still a little crazy for me to do that. The love by Jimmy to Martha reflects strongly and deeply. At the same time, I think Jimmy is a bit crazy.
I will carry my family photos and my teddy bear which has accompanied me for many years.”

“Two people are waiting for the train in Spain. The man wants the woman to have an abortion. She says she’ll have it only if they get to be together and live happily after. He says he cares about her but she is unsure if he really means it. When the train arrives, they go their separate ways. The white elephants were almost symbolic-like because when the woman says that the hills look like white elephants and he says that he has never seen one she retaliates by saying that he wouldn’t have. I believe that the white elephants represent burdens and the woman is suggesting that the man never accepts any burdens he doesn’t want.“
