3-4 Page Paper; Compare and contrast a short story we have read with an event from your own life
Turn in a rough draft of Paper. The rough draft should include: title, introduction with a thesis, developed body paragraphs with examples, and conclusion. It does not need to be a polished copy, but should have the main ideas as well as quotations from the short story that you are using to support your assertions. See Short Stories List below.
Paper One assignment: Compare and contrast a short story we have read with an event from your own life and begin to craft a thesis statement, or controlling idea for the paper. You should choose at least two elements of fiction to discuss in comparing and contrasting the short story with an event from you own life. The story needs to be one that we have read as a class. At least half of your paper should concentrate on the literary text(s); the essay should not be entirely about your personal experience. Instead, consider the paper as an opportunity to gain more insight into both the literary text and your personal experience by discussing them together. It should be at least 3 pages long.
