Re:Topic 2 DQ 2
Communication is a tool to accomplish work and meet goals. In order to accomplish this, it must be effective communication which includes the ability to be clear, direct, straightforward, and to use frequent message transmission (Huber, 2014, p. 110). In order to communicate a shared vision with stakeholders on a community project, I would utilize, persuasion, negotiation, and bargaining. Verbal communication would be a primary method used, which includes written as well. The stakeholders in return must have a degree of listening, trust, self-disclosure, and feedback should occur (Huber, 2014, p. 119). There are many details that are involved in presenting this vision to the stakeholders, which include, developing an action plan, implementing the plan, a blueprint if you will, and evaluating the process, prior to this, one must set targets and goals for success (Huber, 2014, p. 330). I would first present the organization’s mission statement and core values, state the objectives, the financial information, and strategies it will take to reach the objectives, as well as the resources needed, such as staff, food, space, etc. In an article I found, I like the way they have set up a diagram with the aim, primary drivers and secondary drivers, I am sure there are many diagrams and PowerPoints and formats of presenting a plan to stakeholders, but I would start with something simple such as this diagram that looks organized, simple, and detailed (Zavadsky, 2015, p. 51).
