68ACID - BASE PUZZLEYou have just finished a series of titrations and have gotten reasonably competent in thetechnique . Sometimes however it is not necessary to determine concentrations as precisely asyou have been doing . Also $50 burets may not always be available for everyone to use . Theseare the times that a microscale titration is useful . You can" titrate" a solution with another bycounting drops until an endpoint is reached ( instead of measuring milliters in a buret ) .Calculations can be done using drops instead of milliters . This is what you should do today. Before you are two sets of solutions , the * set and the Y set . One set contains HCI andone set contains NaOH . The solutions containing the HCI also contain the indicator\phenolphthalein . Using only the well plate and the given solutions you are to do the following :1 ) Identify which set contains the acid and which set contains the base2 ) Rank the acids ( from left to right ) in order of increasing concentration and justifyyour reasoning .3 ) Rank the bases ( from left to right ) in order of increasing concentration and justifyyour reasoning .4) If the most concentrated acid is 0 . 20M HCL , what are the concentrations of the otheracid solutions ? List all 3 concentrations and show calculations5 ) What are the approximate concentrations of the bases .List all 3 concentrations and show calculationsAll your trials , mistakes , useful experiments , dead ends , etc should go into your lab book .In the space below or on the back of this sheet :`1 ) Describe the procedures you finally used to answer these questions below.2 ) Answer the questions listed aboveYou will be graded on your explanations as well as your final answers as well as organizationof your material .
