A blog is an entry that is threaded in which a person will start a topic based on the Module Outcomes listed for the module and others respond to it. It involves your thoughts, opinions, and reflections of the module outcome at hand as well as peer review. There will be a blog each module for you to complete and the basis will be what was discussed in class.

There are 2 parts pertaining to blogs: The Initial Posting and Response to Other Students.

You can blog on any of the following topics: The actions in the patrol function and/or new tactical approaches to patrol operations. The activities of a detective in a police agency and/or traditional detective operations

You will respond to a classmate’s blog which will consist of 100+ words each (add to the blog, don’t just agree). Grading of response will be as follows:

 11-15 points = 100+ words                            College

   6-10 points = 75 words - 99 words              Secondary

   3-5 points = 50 words – 74 words               Elementary

   1-2 points = 25 words - 49 words                Primary

      0 points = No Evidence

Spelling and Grammar are important when writing on any level. Grammar and spelling are graded for all writing assignments by the following rubric.

0 points deducted = No grammar or spelling errors noted.                       College Level

0 to -5 points deducted = No more than 3 grammar/spelling errors noted.       Secondary Level

-6 to -10 points deducted = No more than 5 grammar/spelling errors noted.       Elementary Level

-11 to -15 points deducted = 5 or more grammar/spelling errors noted.                Primary Level

These instructions cover Blog Assignments for each Module, they are available in the Blog, DB & Journal Instructions.
