ABSTRACT Our study discuss the effect of inflation. consumer price index and the unemployment rateon the import and the export in Lebanon. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship ofthese variables with the import and the export, and how these variables are affecting them and towhat extent. We used the SPSS program for the analysis of our gathered data. Our analyzed resultsshowed that the GDP has inverse relation with the imports. When the unemployment rate wasaffected by these changes (variables), the local industry will decrease its production and thecountry relies on imports. We tracked a negative relationship between the exports and othersvariables except GDP. While there was a direct relationship between export and GDP. Thus whenthe local industry decreases its production, the product produced are less than enough for local consumption. as a result the country has no production to be exported.
