Speaking of difference of perspective from one person to the next and the importance of open communication/discussion among a class or team, there is the concept of active listening.

Listening and 'hearing' are two completely different attributes toward being an active learner while both go hand in hand. Understanding the importance of being an effective listener as it applies to how we learn will open doors to improved communication processes individually and in team oriented environments. Active listening can prove to be an essential skill as it applies to the communication process.
