Write a research-based paper on the following scenario:

Let’s assume you are tasked a system designer at a large health care organization to develop a new comprehensive Clinical Decision Support (CDS) system. Write a research paper to describe the overall structure of your system. Your paper should include the discussions of the following issues.

Review the topics discussed in this class. Relate the items to your own experiences. Use outside references if necessary. Your paper should be 1500-2000 words, using APA style formatting. Your paper must include an introductory paragraph with a brief thesis statement, and a conclusion paragraph. It must address the topics with critical thought.

Include the following topics in your paper:

1. What is the basic architecture, of your new clinical decision support system? What would you accomplish during the planning phase? Why?

2. What are the major and specific functionalities of your system? Can you give examples of what critical issues and risks factors you would address during the planning phase? Why?

3. What general, ethical, and legal standards would you implement during the development phase of your clinical decision support system? What standardized clinical data representation of codes, and terminologies would you use? Explain.

4. How would you integrate ancillary systems to improve current available systems and train employees? How would you sustain your new clinical decision support system, and make future upgrades of software and equipment?
