Analyze the influence of one type of vernacular music from a sociological perspective. You may wish to consider a perspective of gender, age, race, ethnicity, economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, peace, conflict, protest, geography (e.g. Deep South)...

Include research from at least two academic articles from either the sociology or music discipline journals and one source of your choice (website, book, general media, YouTube, etc.).

Here is one example of an academic research article to get you started. Do not use the example article as your own research article. I have specifically selected an "outdated" article (2010) so you won't think I stole the only good reference :) Your research needs to be from 2011-2021 articles.
