• What do you think will be some of the most important innovations in logistics over the next ten years? As you identify these large innovations, discuss how they will affect your company’s products or another company that you know of.

think that some of the most important innovations in logistics in the future are digitization of the supply chain and automation of logistics labor. With the continued advances and development in the technology industry, supply chain software, communications, and automation efforts meeting certain digital criteria is not impossible. Another trend that I think will play an important role in logistics is warehouse automation to meet direct-to-consumer fulfillment. The growing trend of shuttle system acquisitions and mobile robotics in the warehouse will progress. Currently, our organization is jumping on this bandwagon, digitization of processes has been underway for years to support an increasingly financially constrained environment with increased accountability and transparency regarding the use of tax payers money. Specific to my rate is the digitization of our financial records and like any other implementation of changes, any transition needs to be planned ahead of time, allocate adjustment period for all parties involved, policy and regulation updates that is disseminated to the whole fleet and intensive training is required.
