Answer with at least 200 words citation and reference.

At my company, we are currently preparing for a complete transition of our Geographical Information System (G.I.S.) database into an Automated Distribution Management System(ADMS). This will allow more automation in designs, hassle free management of databases within the system, and improvement in overall production. In order to do this, we have to enhance our current data in our program to satisfy the needs of the new ADMS program, this will allow us to essentially copy the data we currently have into the new system without impacting the end result of the project with data errors, for this project we have contracted out G.I.S. contractors to work on the preliminary work as well as moved full time workers to train, track, and resolve errors they are not qualified to perform on. Understanding from the textbook, “Ideally, the (Model) will enable the company to satisfy demand and at the same time minimize the total production and inventory costs.” (Adler, et al., 2002) We have used a linear model to reduce the time allocated per error “cleaned-up” in our G.I.S. system as well as reduced the cost of this project by contracting the work out to job specific contractors at a lower price than taking away employees to focus on the menial tasks. The equation we measure for these errors is 1C(contractor rate/day)+.2E(Employee rate/day)= 150R(resolved errors). Using this equation, we can identify how much resources need to be allocated to resolve the errors and accurately project the cost and time needed for the particular project.
