The final report must include strategies for implementation. These strategies will be mapped into the final audit report. The Audit Report will be for an enterprise with which you are familiar or a fictitious enterprise. The enterprise that you choose must be able to handle both near-term and future requirements in a distributed, virtual- or cloud-based environment.

WEEK: 1 (4pages)

1.     Choose the enterprise with which you will be working.

  1. Describe the enterprise. Include the following:
    • Company purpose
    • Goals, objectives, mission statement
    • Hardware, software
    • Description of the IT Infrastructure (e.g., cloud-based, distributed)
  2. Produce a proposal for the audit report
    • For this proposal, conduct research on IT audits, and find the elements and IT standards that will be part of your audit report
    • Produce an outline that shows what will be included on your audit report
    • Your proposed outline should be compatible with IT standards
    • Note: The most important key elements are the following:
      • Data center security preferably biometrics and gated and guarded
      • Daily routine backup
      • Data cleansing

Identify mitigation strategies to address the list of risks (8 - 12) that you identified in Week 3. Use the following format for explaining how you will address each risk:

1.     Accept and recognize the risk with your executive management and IT staff and managers. Adjust or reduce the risk. The adjustment can be done by updating requirements or risk list Control the risk by lowering the causes of it.

  1. Document everything and make sure it is correct.
  2. Continue to monitor and watch the risk effects and causes of the risks.
  3. Limit the recurrence of the risk and how to adjust your future of handling it.

Checklist: Make changes to the checklist that you started in Week 3, based on the risk analysis

WEEK: 5 (3 pages)

  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of the report for meeting current and future challenges
  • Identify future requirements
  • Develop a strategy for implementation of the checklist developed in week 3
  • Compare your implemented audit report via the checklist you developed in week 3 against an audit report of a well-reputable company
