Are you able to assist with a 150 word response and one reference to this discussion post?
Rationally, I chose this theory for its simplicity and ability to be applied to all areas and specialties of nursing. The 5 C's of Caring theory, developed by Jean Watson, emphasizes the importance of establishing a compassionate relationship between the healthcare provider and the patient. This theory can be applied to nursing in many ways by following the guidance of the 5 C's and their definitions.Nurses must approach their patients with sympathy and understanding, considering their needs and feelings. By showing compassion, nurses can help alleviate patients' fears and anxieties and promote a sense of trust and comfort (GONZALO, 2024). Compassion is essential in the healthcare provider-to-patient relationship as it allows for a baseline to promote and perfect the other four C's.It is vital that nurses continually strive to enhance their knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care for their patients. By staying up-to-date with the newest evidence-based practices and techniques, nurses can ensure they are competent in providing high-quality, effective care (GONZALO, 2024). Overall, competency prevents harm and promotes a better understanding of proper patient care.Nurses must be confident in providing competent and compassionate patient care. This confidence can help instill a sense of trust and security in patients and empower nurses to advocate for their patients and provide the best possible outcomes (Pajnkihar,2017).Nurses must always act by their ethical principles and values and advocate for the well-being and rights of their patients. By listening to their conscience and acting with integrity, nurses can ensure that they are providing care that is in the best interest of their patients (GONZALO, 2024).Lastly, Nurses must demonstrate a solid commitment to their patients, profession, and personal growth and development. By dedicating themselves to providing excellent care, nurses can positively impact their patients' lives and contribute to society's overall well-being (Pajnkihar,2017).A nurse operating within the 5 C's will vastly improve the quality of their care. As an effect, quality care increases positive patient outcomes.
