Art 2201 Writing Assignment 1:

For this assignment, you will select one of the works shown below and write a description of just what you see, NOT what you think about it or what it might mean.  Most of the works are apparently related to a narrative event, but you should ignore that, and describe what is included in its visual presentation, starting with the most general (“a rectangular picture of a landscape, with X # figures”), then go on to systematically, in an organized fashion, to describe its components, with sufficient detail so that someone who could not see the work would be able to create their own mental picture or even a sketch of it from what you have writte.
