ARTICLE/WRITING ASSIGNMENT

ARTICLE/WRITING ASSIGNMENT

Description:  This Article is a writing assignment where you express your personal thoughts, interpretation, and evaluation of a particular topic; which must be presented through the article.  It is not a research essay or investigation to other resources.

Questions you might ask yourself:

How do you feel about the topic in the article?

Do you agree with the author's conclusion based on the presentation of facts?

Could there have been another interpretation?

How has this reading impacted your view of the topic?

Did you realize something that was unknown to you before?

Did you in any way identify with this topic?

In discussing your reaction/response, it is important to make references to evidence presented.  For example, if you disagree with the author's point of view, please reference the specific point you disagree with and support your views.

Article:          You must choose an article that relates to any of the topics covered in this class. I suggest you look at the syllabus for ideas. You must approve your article by the end of Week 3. Therefore, I suggest you do not wait until the last minute.

Format:        You must submit a 2 page Article Assignment total; typed; double spaced with a 12 font. Please provide the direct link to the article at the end of your paper as I will be reading all the articles.

Contents:      Your paper should include a brief description of the particular issue discussed in the article. The remaining body of your paper will consist of your reflection. Your reflection should include any observations, opinions, advantages, disadvantages, perceptions and conclusions. You should analyze the position you take and discuss the issue thoroughly. DO NOT SUMMARIZE THE ARTICLE. I will have the link to your article and will read it myself.  Your paper should include phrases like "I feel" "I believe" etc.
