Assignment #1: Topic for your research paper

Please submit the topic for your research paper, your hypothesis and basically why you would like to study this. Make sure that it is something that you are capable of studying, either by doing the library research required or obtaining the data in some way.  It must not be too broad of a topic.  For example, "cancer" is way too broad.  "Incidence of various types of cancer in residents of Port Gibson" might work but you might want to narrow it down more. For example, you may want to see what types of cancer could be possibly attributed to something like the water supply for example and not include what is due to cigarette smoke. Anyhow, this is where you get creative.

Do not put this off as this is what the course is all about.  You will have to come up with a topic that is approved before you start work.  Make sure you include your hypothesis etc.
