1. First, watch those tow movies: "An Unreal Dream: The Michael Morton Story" (2013), and "Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer" (2003) (about Aileen Wuornos, an infamous female serial killer who was executed in Florida in 2002).

  1. For the paper, submit a minimum of SEVEN and maximum of TEN pages addressing and analyzing AT LEAST TWENTY Criminal Law issues (TEN from each film).  You will base your analysis on material covered in the textbook as well as in class discussions.  Issues chosen can be from any of the chapters in the textbook.  I will be looking for focus/analysis/review from the films on the criminal justice system: mental state, prosecutors and defense lawyers, criminal trial court judge, possible faulty police investigation, prosecutorial misconduct, coerced false confessions, bogus expert testimony, biased judges, etc.
  2. You MUST answer the following questions in your papers:
    1. List your 20 issues by numbering: "An Unreal Dream: The Michael Morton Story" 1-10; and "Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer" 1-10.  List each issue with its definition and put the issue in bold and underlined.  Next, what does this selection have to do with my issues? (provide a summary of the main ideas and important supporting details from the movie relating to Criminal Law issues you choose to analyze)
    2. What solutions can you offer to remedy any problems which your movie or book presents?
    3. Concluding paragraph for EACH movie: what is your opinion of each movie in terms of what we have discussed in this class?
