 Students will choose from an assortment of high-profile case of economic crime cases. Each student will be required to do background Internet research on the case and construct a well-organized and fascinating 6-page paper explaining: 1) the history of the case; 2) how it was investigated/detected; 3) how the case was handled by the courts; 4) lessons learned from the case and 5) conclusions/recommendations. Each submission will be graded based on accuracy, clarity and thoroughness. In addition, each student should have at least two paragraphsthat explain how the case applies to the Cressey fraud triangle explained in the white-collar crime slides and an alternate theory described in Chapter 12 of the Payne text.(Deterrence Theory, Rational Choice Theory, Strain Theory, Learning/Differential Association Theory, Neutralization Theory, Self-Control Theory, Routine Activities Theory). Please expand upon the theory of your choice and how it applies to your case with reference to the chapter slideshow and/or the textbook. 1 Title Page, 4 Pages of actual writing, 1 Page for references, 6 Pages TOTAL. 

References should be listed in a Reference Page at the end of the paper using APA style and please use APA style throughout the paper and for the title page. Please understand that this is a formal written assignment. You will be graded on your thoroughness of the aforementioned aspects of the paper, spelling and grammar (please do not use contractions or informal language including personal pronouns in explaining your opinion for the recommendations aspect)and your ability to explain what you’ve learned this semester when applying white-collar crime theory to your case topic.
