At the end of the day, like many things, can we say it depends on who the theorist is?

At the end of the day, like many things, can we say it depends on who the theorist is? Not only does the actual operational definition matter depending on who is discussing it but how many constructs make it up. For example, Gardner has 7 (sometimes 8 depending on what year you are reading of his research). Sternberg has three. One guy has 121! What is the benefit of having more (or less) constructs?
