Write an essay that presents your opinion on a controversial issue of your choice. Consult various media sources if you need some ideas. Begin with a debatable thesis statement. Then follow the guidelines for writing an argument essay.
As you write your essay, be sure you support your claims with well-chosen evidence. A few handouts are attached to help you plan and write your essay.
Many of these concepts were discussed in Expository 1 so it should be very familiar. Also, because this is a topic of your choice and your peers, and myself, will not be reading the articles, you MUST include a work cited page. Visit Purdue OWL: MLA Works Cited Basics page.
