Based on the LA Times article and any other sources you wish to incorporate, share your personal opinion about California's state law. Explain whether you think it is the proper role of government to pass laws restricting such things as chicken enclosures, and whether it is reasonable for one state to be able to impose those same restrictions on chicken farmers wishing to sell eggs within its state's borders. Do you think that the chicken industry would have moved toward these reforms (i.e., free-range chickens) without the government imposing these requirements by law? If you don't believe government should impose such restrictions on business, then what restrictions, if any, do you think that government should be allowed to pass by law?
