basketball player recieves the ball and drives to the basket; in an attempt to cut away from a block,he pivoted off the right foot and fell to the ground..he states he felt his foot slip out from him as he turned..lower leg going in one direction and upper leg and hips going in the opposite direction; he felt a pop and the knee gave out. he has pain along the medial line of the knee, right knee joint effusion, AROM is limited and produces pain with flexion; PRom produces pain at the end of flexion and extension; both passive and active knee extension limited by pain and swelling.
