Planning
Well, I think by now we know that planning is setting a goal or goals and developing a strategy to achieve them. In the next few paragraphs I will demonstrate how planning is playing a major role in helping my team to be successful in providing education to clinical and administrative staff at a system level delivering tools needed to navigate through the survey season rapidly approaching for our healthcare system.
The Sailing Through Survey Education Conference that will be hosted and presented by Vidant Health Corporate Services in May has been in the planning stages for months now. The first thing that we did was to established a committee (which are the speakers who will be presenting at the conference) to allocate duties and determine which direction we wanted to go so that everyone has a clear understanding of what the purpose is.
After determining our direction and defining who will be doing what, a series of meetings and collaboration is taking place. Each time we come together, it is obvious that everyone is putting forth intensified effort on their assigned presentations and tasks. I think there is a little healthy competition taking place to see who can be the most creative in their presentations.
It is obvious that all who are involved in this project are putting forth lots of hard work, creativity, critical thinking and extended work periods to produce a final product that is professional, informative and demonstrates the wealth of knowledge that is within our own healthcare system.
As May looms around the corner, presentations and tasks are being tweaked, the venue is reserved, final meetings are scheduled, April is full of practice sessions and goals on target to be accomplished.
