By now you have established a topic, formulated research questions, crafted a thesis statement, and identified possible search terms and useful databases for your research.

Now you will be putting all those parts of the process together as you create an annotated bibliography of sources related to your topic. Creating an annotated bibliography is an excellent preparation for writing a research paper. Once a student has completed one, they have a much better understanding of the different ideas, viewpoints, and policies that are involved with their topic. This helps the student write their essay with real authority and confidence.

For the annotated bibliography, locate 10 sources that are related to your topic. Then, create an APA reference entry for each of them. Under each reference entry, you will write a short paragraph that summarizes the source and includes information regarding its credibility, and finally, shares how it relates to your topic.

For example:Shew, A. & Harstaed, D. (2018). Strengthening information literacy among post-secondary students.Journal of Information Literacy, 11(2), 54-67.

Shew and Harstaed are both senior librarians at the University of Toledo. Based on the study of seven different cohort groups, they analyzed the barriers most often encountered by the post-secondary student when conducting research. These barriers include lack of formal instruction, lack of institutional support, and a lack of cultural emphasis on the skills of information literacy. This study supports the part of my thesis that explores the poor quality of information literacy in our wider culture.

You will do this for all 10 sources.

Your assignment submission should be a Word document that fully adheres to the instructions listed above.  Be sure to proofread your assignment. This assignment is worth a possible 90 points.
