CALCULUS FOR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

All projects are to contain an introduction that gives the problem or topic you are working on; a narrative that discusses and answers the question using mathematics, and/or provides the research; a conclusion that indicates what you learned from the doing the project. The projects should be between 3 and 4 pages depending on which one you choose. Pictures or graphs may be included within the narrative.

CHOOSE FROM TOPICS::

• Discuss PET scan imaging and the importance of “decay” of the isotope used.

• Discuss the difference between change in temperature compared to the rate of change of temperature in global warming scenarios. Give an example.
• Discuss the importance of understanding the jobless percentages as they are quoted. What do you need to know to determine if they are truly representative of how many people are unemployed and for how long? How does rate of change impact this discussion?
• Pick an invasive species and discuss its spread.
• Pick a third world country and discuss how fast it is growing, or decreasing and whether this growth is linear or exponential, or neither.
• Describe some applications of level curves in geography.
